Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 11 am–10 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (973) 344-7337. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, ferrystreetbarbecue.website.

Newark is in New Jersey, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Newark is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New Jersey's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

We chose this restaurant as a meeting point for a group of parents and children who were getting together to trade FIFA Panini cards at the outdoor tables. From the beginning, the parents agreed that everyone would support the business by making purchases. Some ordered soft drinks, while others placed larger food orders (BBQ meals) Before taking the time to see what was happening, the owner approached some of the parents in an upset and confrontational manner, insisting that we needed to buy something to use the tables. While I understand that a business doesn’t want its seating occupied by non-paying customers, the way this was handled was disappointing. It happened in front of a group of children and created an unnecessarily uncomfortable atmosphere. A simple, question, β€œHi, are you planning to order anything?” would have achieved the same goal without embarrassing anyone or making assumptions. Instead, the interaction felt disrespectful, especially considering that many of us had already ordered or were in the process of doing so. I hope the owner reflects on this experience. Good customer service starts with giving people the benefit of the doubt and treating them with respe

The people there are hardworking and super efficient and the only reason it deserves 5 stars it's cause of them. The owner is an old guy with glasses and is rude with the customers, stands right on your face like he's about to fight you and treats you as of you're lesser. It's so bad I honestly hope you don't deal with him. He's lucky he has nice workers specially the grill and take out staff. Food is delicious.

6.75/10 T-Bone Steak Steak is alright but not buying it again. It felt a bit plain as they didn't have a proper Steak sauce, so you only could use barbecue, ketchup, or hot sauce of which none of them helped. Ordered medium rare and it came out mostly fully cooked.

Great service Great atmosphere Great food! I love the grilled meat! However, a lot of the time the steaks are mostly FAT... Don't be fooled by the first visit. They will give you the idea you will receive great pieces of meat. By giving you a nice piece but I have remained loyal and continued paying for FAT!!!
